Do Not Fear.

While doing research for Class 3 in my “Closer to God with Signs and Wonders” Series (Clearing the Divine Communication Line”), I’ve been looking up Bible verses to add as a supportive handout for the class, and I’ve happened upon some wonderful videos and articles. I’ve attached this wonderful song above – please watch and listen to it – by a group called Hillsong.

See the basis of the song, Isaiah 43:1-5 below:

1 But now, this is what the LORD says…
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
2 When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
3 For I am the LORD your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior…
4 Since you are precious and honored in my sight,
and because I love you,
I will give people in exchange for you,
nations in exchange for your life.
5 Do not be afraid, for I am with you…

One of the things I want to discuss in Class 3 of the series is FEAR as an obstacle in our lives (one of the many “clogs” that get in the way between us and God). Did you know that the Bible tells us NOT to fear in 365 different passages? Sounds like a pretty important message God wants us to understand, doesn’t it? One thing I’ve noticed when using my “Connecting the Signs” method (Class 4) is that this “Do not fear” message is commonly present as well — a personal message from God. God has proven His awesomeness to me SO many times in my life. Why do I still worry at all? I guess because I’m human.

I’m looking forward to presenting some creative ideas on how to dissolve the “Fear Clog” in your life. Please join me on the FREE CLASS (Class One – recordings available for those who cannot attend live), and I hope you can join me for the rest of the series as well.

Blessings to you!

SIGNS ~ No Such Thing As Coincidence.

I had to share another film I’m gaga over: Signs by M. Night Shamalan. I totally love the CRAZY idea M. Night had to put two topics together in a movie that I didn’t think could work together at all: God and aliens. Crazy!

The film (to me) is all about a man’s journey of returning to his faith in God. Mel Gibson plays a priest who lost his wife in a horrible car accident (he watched her die). He consequently loses faith and leaves his place in the church — denying God to the point of refusing to pray with his family at the dinner table.

The clip I attached is the point at which everything comes together. Evidence of God’s design surrounds Mel’s character at this climactic moment when an injured alien goes after his son. He is finally able to “SEE” the reasons why his daughter left half-full water glasses all over the house, why his brother (Joaquin Phoenix) had the strongest batting arm in the country, and why his son had asthma.

No such thing as coincidence.

Again, I find myself thinking about movies like this while I prepare for my “Closer to God with Signs and Wonders” teleclass. I can’t help it.

I Had An Experience…

As I prepare for my upcoming teleclass in March, I find myself coming back to many thoughts and ideas that have inspired me in the past. I had to take a moment to share one of them.

One of my favorite movies ever is the Jodie Foster film, Contact. I’ve added a couple of my favorite clips below, and I hope you take a moment to enjoy them. I love to find my own personal ideas of symbolism in films, and the symbolism I find in this film makes me cry, I love it so.

Foster’s character is a scientist, and she decided early in life after her father’s death that belief in God had no place in her life. Later on she ironically falls in love with a highly religious man (Matthew McConaughy – 1st clip below). Foster battles the concept of faith throughout the film, and finally comes to terms with it by having her own experience (2nd clip below). When taken to trial, her story is debunked by her fellow scientists (3rd clip), and this is when she finally discovers her own sense of faith — her own testimony to share with the world. She finally understands what it feels like to believe in something greater than ourselves. Her “something” may not be God, but it’s a step forward in understanding what faith is all about (as her father said, “Small moves, Ellie… “).

We all have our own stories of miraculous experiences in our lives that point to God. I can’t wait for my “Closer to God with Signs and Wonders” teleclass where we will have an opportunity to share some of these experiences with each other.

Perhaps take a moment now to remember one of your own experiences.

When Penguins Fly…

Here is a marvelous little ad for the BBC. I thought I’d have fun with my daughter and show her some YouTube videos to show her what penguins look like in action. We stumbled across this wonderful video while doing our Penguin research project. I had to confirm to her that it wasn’t real – that penguins really can’t fly. But what an inspiring sight, anyway!

Forget that it’s fiction. The wonderful thing I see in this is how we are able to make our visions real. I watched this laughing my head off at first, over and over. I love the toucan watching curiously while hundreds of pudgy penguins drop from the sky (HILARIOUS!). But humor aside, it really is quite a marvel that we as people are able to make the imaginary a reality. Watching these penguins struggle to lift off, I CHEER as I watch them finally make it into the air, and I love the way they flap their wings passionately to stay in flight! I feel this same way when I see people I know overcome their own heavy obstacles and I applaud enthusiastically as I witness their miracles of FLIGHT!

I suppose I feel this way because it gives me hope for my own dreams, and it proves to me that dreams do come true.

Opus dream - a wish for wings that workI knew I’d have to post this one in my blog and ask the questions,

“What have you been telling yourself you’ll never be able to do?”

“Do you have a dream that has never left you your whole life?”

“Oh, yeah,” you tell yourself, “I’ll do it… when penguins fly!”

Well, here you go! What are you waiting for?

Time for your dream to LIFT OFF!
